History Of Fender Electric Guitars

Fender was the first company to mass produce a solid body electric guitar, known as the Telecaster. Other companies had manufactured electric guitars in the past – not many people realize that electrics were in use in the 1920’s – but Fender were the first to have real success when it comes to mass production.

The company was originally founded in 1938, and was known as Fender’s Radio Service. Leo Fender, the founder, created the company to repair radios and other audio systems. It wasn’t until the 1940s that the company began to produce electric instruments and amps. It is thought that the Telecaster, also known as the Tele, was originally produced in large numbers in 1950 with the Esquire single pickup model.

Other Fender electric guitars for sale include the Mustang, Jaguar and Starcaster. The company also manufactures bass guitars such as the Fender Jazz bass. For a complete list of Fender electric guitars please take a look at the link.
